The Nexxy Manifesto

Build relationships. Not just pipelines.

Seven things we believe about this job, most of which we learned by getting them wrong first. They're the reason Nexxy works the way it does, and they're why we say no to a fair number of the features people ask us for.

I

The Rolodex was the first CRM

Agents kept cards in a shoebox, then a spreadsheet, now this.

The tool changes roughly every fifteen years.

What sits underneath it hasn't moved at all.

You remember somebody, they notice, and the next call goes differently.

Software didn't invent that. It just made it easier to forget.

II

Nobody should be able to tell

You shouldn't be able to feel the software working.

If a client can tell a message was scheduled, we got it wrong.

Most of that comes down to timing and wording rather than technology.

It's unglamorous work and it's where most of our week goes.

Done properly, you just look like someone who has their act together.

III

Show up before there's a deal

The agent who gets the call is rarely the one who pitched hardest.

They sent the February market update with nothing attached to it.

They mentioned the school zoning change because it mattered to that family.

By the time anyone was ready to list, there wasn't much of a decision left.

That takes about eight months, and it beats any ad you could buy.

IV

Timing is most of it

Every relationship runs at its own pace.

The right message at the wrong moment is worse than saying nothing.

A cheerful check-in during a funeral week doesn't read as thoughtful.

No system knows that. You do.

So the software drafts, and you decide when it goes.

V

Ten clients before a hundred

You can't look after a hundred people if ten are already slipping.

Growth here usually means going deeper into the list you already have.

One referral from a happy client is worth a month of chasing strangers.

And referrals come from one place only, which is somebody feeling cared about.

Get deeper before you get bigger.

VI

People don't recommend software

They recommend people.

The one who remembered their daughter's name.

The one who called back on a Sunday because it couldn't wait until Monday.

Nobody has ever said: you should see the CRM she uses.

Our job is to sit behind that, not in front of it.

VII

Busy is not the same as present

Everyone in this job is busy. That isn't the differentiator.

The ones still going in year ten are the ones who stayed reachable.

That takes a system, because willpower runs out around Thursday.

Automation should buy back the hours and then get out of the way.

Being present is a choice. Software can only make it cheaper to keep.

The bottom line

We can automate a good deal of this job.

The part that matters still has to be you.

Every good client story we've heard has a person in the middle of it who kept turning up. We're trying to make that easier to keep doing through a busy year.

“People don't recommend software. They recommend the person using it.
